"The Rumble"
This is our annual back to school blow out! Last year we had a new venue at the Adams' Residence. The mud was especially sloppy and the weather was just right for some mud-slinging fun. We had teams compete in an obstacle course, a water balloon capture the flag, and synchronize dancing on slick plastic. This year we will have a giant inflatable obstical course, smores around the camp fire and much much more! Click the link for more information on the fun, pics, and more.
"Ichthus"
We took 7 youth to the music festival. Skillet was awesome, the speakers were awesome. This was a wonderful expirience. Check out the link to see pics and details!
"Winter Jam 09"
Fifteen of us packed up the van and headed to Columbus. After waiting in line for about an hour and half in 10-degree weather we finally made it in only to find out we would be sitting slightly behind the stage. But truly they were pretty awesome seats. Brandon Heath was awesome, TobyMac was the best and Hawk Nelson was a no show. No worries though Barlow Girls took their place and still rocked the place! Who said Christians don't know how to have fun?
"Super Bowl Party"
We helped sponsor a huge party at the Fairfield High School. There were 95 people in attendance. There was a flag football tournament as well as basketball, and board games. Did we mention there was food! We had an awesome time and expect next year to be even bigger!
"Dead Serious About LIFE"
This is a musical for high school students that came to Hillsboro. Our Church housed 10 students from the DSAL family. They attended service with us that Sunday. In addition to housing the students as a core church we passed out flyers and put up posters all over Leesburg and Hillsboro and purchased a block of 50 tickets, 25 of those were Leesburg UMC attendees. This means the rest were passed out by the youth to students that needed to hear the awesome message.
"The Revolve Tour"
This was a conference from "Women of Faith". Last year the Revolve Tour was awesome. We all got to meet the performers and speakers. Natalie Grant was at the top of her game. It was a heart moving and life changing experience. Click the link for pics!
"Safe Trick or Treat"
This year at Fairfield High School we were one of 20 tables passing out candy inside the school. We passed out around 400 bags of candy. Each bag had two pieces of candy and a LUMC magnet with church service times. Only five families that came through were already church family. This means we reached plenty of new families to join us.
"Kairos Cookie"
This was a Lock-In of all the youth young and old. We stayed up until 4:00am in the morning and got up around 7:00am for church. We finished with about 200 dozen cookies. This was Laura's first night with the youth and defiantly a night not to forget!
